Gym, knee, diet

Whattup, just a short post.
Basically had a consultation today abou the knee, turns out there is NOTHING wrong with my cruciate despite being told otherwise by 2 physiotherapists and its just my patellar that is bad, which has tendonitis. This confused me because being told about the cruciate so much i had it ingrained into my head that it was bad but apparently its fine so thats good. All i need to do is what im still doing, apparently patellar tendonitis can take up to 2 yrs to recover! But mine will recover much sooner im sure of it, going to rehab the hell out of it to avoid surgery on it so its a good result overall!

Diet is good atm, just wanted to say ive had no chocolate for 20 days! haha, yep thats good for me since i was having to many too often, and my carb intake has shot right down. All in all now i eat about 1500-2000 calories a day, and a bulk of it is fruit and veg, and lots of muesli and porridge lol. Ordered some soy and whey protein as well as a smoothie maker to make some fruity protein drinks, yum yum.

And below is a really lame video haha, dont know why im posting it. Basically me and mat went to a gym 'session' and NO ONE was there, so we had the WHOLE place to ourselves for about 2 hrs before being found and politely asked to leave. Nothing crazy or new, not much filmed, we were just having fun! oh and mats aerials are pwning mine like feck!

At least its an answer,

Just been out training in the rain at a pitch black playground with my bro for 2 hours, was great. My brother is 16 and got interested in parkour a while ago and properly started in october, going from not being able to do ONE pullup, to getting out 100 pullups tonight over the course of the session.
Well, yestarday I had an MRI scan, my dad and I drove to Cheltenham to get one done much much cheaper than here, and the result came through today. The reason I wanted one done is because there has been no significant improvement on my knee over the past 7 months or so, even tho I have been doing a lot of rehabilitation for it. So, I came back after training and my dad told me to have a look at the fax of results, turns out I have definately got a partial cruciate tear, which my dad reckons is most probably the road to surgery, which means waiting on the NHS for months to get it done, and then some more recovey to do for it. In a way, I am glad for this though, because I was doing all this work on my leg and trying to get it really great with little/no result, and if the scan had said things are fine, I wouldnt know what to do. So basically I have a consultation later this month to see what to do about it, but most likely is surgery. At this point I am willing to do anything to get it back to how it was and so I am able to fully train, and although I have been training as hard as ever these past months, I really miss being able to just do real and raw parkour, instead of some very light moves here and there, with a lot of conditioning and rehab replacing most of the technical side. So, finally I have an answer to why this process has been so agonisingly slow, and to think I originally did the injury over a year ago while doing a gainer in China.
So now I know what I have, I am gonna concentrate my training on strength, gymnastic basics, a LOT of bouldering, stretching, and very light parkour movements, but no impact. So I hope to be fairly strong by the end of all this, I just hope its ok by the summer!
Take care everyone and keep training,

Old passion

I used to be obsessed with art and its pretty much all i did when i was 16. Originally I was going to go to glasgow uni to do visual communication which is like graphic design and illustration, and in a way part of me wishes i did. Anyway, i was digging through some old photos of when i used to paint back in the day and it just reminded me of how much i loved drawing and painting, so i thought I would upload some of my old stuff, and maybe even add some new things, i would like to get back into it but its hard to get that mindset back, although i really think its a great skill to work on since its so expressive and you can do so much with it. Anyway, here is a link to some of my stuff which i have done over a year ago and some 2 years ago.

So yeah, ive started training every weekday morning at about 8ish for 30 mins before lectures around a field in front of my hall.
Aiming to do about 3 miles for the actual crawl, not sure where, cambridge or london i think.
Anyway, so thats something im currently training for as i was thinking of ways to help people through training.

    Focus

First post for a fair while, just thought I would update so that people thought i wasn't dead/not training.
The knee is improving a lot and I have been able to move onto more impact related movements recently, but still keeping up with rehab 3 times a week at the gym.
When I got here it was pretty exciting, and i wanted to start learning so much, so i took up Breaking and bouldering. Only last week did i stop breaking to concentrate on parkour as my main discipline, a decision made after much thinking since i enjoyed it so much, but in the long term, its no good. I dont want to be average at a few things, so I am back on focus with parkour.
The course is going well, very intensive with a lot of work set every week and doing about 20-30 hrs a week of it, but luckily i enjoy it a lot and there are some cool people on the course.
Went with Blane, Rip, timmylee and yakob to perform and teach at 'White Air Extreme Sports Festival' last weekend. I wasn't such a fan of performing as I was for teaching and thoroughly enjoyed helping people to learn. The weekend was really enjoyable though, and DC held it down by himself for 3 days before we all arrived so much kudos to him. Hopefully get some photographs soon and more info up at www.teamtraceur.com
Finally got a fairly rigid schedule down for the week in terms of training which is as follows (not including lectures and study). The gym includes about 40 mins of rehab, strength exercises(pullups, dips etc to failure on all), running(fartlek/interval OR longer steady sessions) Gymnastic Basics are handstands, presses, planche, front/back levers:

Monday: Climbing, Gymnastic Conditioning, Leg Rehab
Tuesday: Stretching, Core, Climbing, Leg conditioning,
Wednesday: Climbing, Gymnastic Conditioning, Leg Rehab
Thursday: Intensive stretching 1/2hrs, Leg conditioning, parkour conditioning(Hell night) 3hrs
Friday: Climbing, Gymnastic Conditioning, Leg Rehab
Saturday: Parkour conditioning, Non impact training
Sunday: Leg conditioning, Gym session in Leeds(acro/conditioning)

Also purchased a 20kg weight vest from reebok wich I wear everytime i go to the gym to train, but currently just on about 10kg and will slowly work up to avoid injury.
Also, my dad and I are now on the waiting list for the Marathon Des Sables for 2009, so running is essential at the moment.
The parkour conditioning nights are inspired by Blane's 'Hell nights' which is 3-4 hrs of solid conditioning with many of his fellow comrades throwing up in the process!
    Anyway, enjoy the below picture!
